VOLAHN

VOLAHN 'Dimensiones del Trance Kosmico'

Volahn, part of the Black Twilight Circle (the LA based Black Metal entity consisting of Arizmenda, Ashdautas, Axeman, Kuxum Suum, Volahn and Kallathon {who I'm dying to hear more of!!}), and their 2008 release. The Black Twilight Circle put out a comp last May that has all these bands and its top notch! Anyway, this is Volahn's solo project and it's the more known of the Black Twilight Circle. Just superb Black Metal!!

  3. Funny you commented about AXEMAN, i'm listening to them now!!! ITS SOOOOOO GOOD!!! Its one guy and they only have one release, a demo called ARRIVE! If you find it, grab it!! Its influenced certainly by the AMEBIX!! You can hear the trademark AMEBIX galloping chugga chugga in the AXEMAN demo, and its also influenced by early BATHORY i'd say, my friend, just track it down or I'll post it soon!!!! As far as THE BLACK TWILIGHT CIRCLE is concerned, AXEMAN and KALLATHON are my faves, VOLAHN a close second!!! CHEERS

  4. This is good, but my god, it SOUNDS AWFUL. The compression on the hi-hats in particular is just god awful. I mean, look, I'm ok with a lot of low-fi sounding punk and black metal, but lets face it... A lot of that stuff was that way cause it *had* to be... you can have a black metal as fuck sound without degrading your musicianship by purposefully making it sound like shit. But that's just my opinion.

Regardless this is still good. Although I HATE the acoustic guitar sound. It sounds like it's played on a turntable that has a bad belt drive. (more bitching about sound.... this is what i get for going to school for sound....)
