INTRODUCING......THE INJECTIONS!!!!

The Injections 'Christmas Attack'

One last holiday post before it's too late. This is The Injections from the UK and it just so happens to be my buddy Conner's band. It has a revolving door type of dealio that features Mark Wanky of The Wankys (who I believe, besides Conner{the singer}, is the only steady member), Melvin from Worst Enemy and a few Japanese punks such as Clockwork Kenji from the Hat Trickers, Kentaro from The Erections, Meguro from The Bubbles, and Coockie and Kim Chi from Oi!Drivers....
Conner also does Pogo-Punx records, check em out here and has a great blog that I occasionally get stuff from and they always seem to be gems, Noise For The Boys.

The music is what ya would suspect, Confuse, GAI, The Swankys worship.... Loud, noisey, wall-o-noise punk fuckin rock!! But with some.....holiday spirit....??!!@#$%^&

Sins

Sins Of The Flesh 'Know Your Enemy'

Sacramento, California's Sins Of The Flesh with their last recording, the Know Your Enemy 7", from 1989. They had a killer LP before this which I'll soon post. I believe I saw Sins Of The Flesh a few times, could be wrong though. Anyway, like I said, this is from 1989 and was put out by an old friend of mines (Chris) label, Desperate Attempt that put out some killer shit in the late 80's, early 90's (such as the Apocalypse/Transgression split 7, the Deviated Instinct LP 'Re-Opening Old Wounds', Spinewrench, Hiatus/Embittered 7,some Concrete Sox, Chaos UK, Disorder, loads of killer shit!).
Anyway, Sins Of The Flesh nowadays would be considered 'crust-core' I suppose, but to me, then and now, it's just good ol' fashioned Hardcore Punk with political lyrics and lots of passion, heart and balls. What a great 7"!!!!

Downtown Noise Punker Volume Three

Downtown Noise Punker 3

The third and final Downtown Noise Punker compilation. This one finds more Japanese bands than the previous two, but ya still get a few American bands, a Dutch, a few French and a few English. Looks like Noise Punk has become global. This installment might be my favorite, but the first one is right behind this one, though they all kill! The stand outs for me on this one are Formby Channel (whom I think is a collab between The Wankys and some other English chap, could be wrong though), People, Chaos Destroy (who I think best embodies the Kyushu spirit {GAI,Confuse,The Swankys,etc.etc.}), and The Wankys (Actually it's all 4 of these bands that best embody the Kyushu Island sound this comp strives for). Then again, all the songs are killer!!

The first Downtown Noise Punker is here, the second here. Here's some of The Wankys and some PEOPLE (here & here)

LUROR

Luror 'The Iron Hand Of Blackest Terror'

German Black Metal that just doesn't get any better and it's all at the behest of sole member Unhold (who is one of the two members of Absurd). At times, Luror has that early Norwegian Black Metal sound where the bands, such as Mayhem, (early) DarkThrone, & Burzum, weren't to adept at the guitar and would play chords that didn't make sense, in doing so made a sound that was wholly original, frightening and morbid. Luror does that at times, but other times Unhold's musicianship is unmatched and he cranks out stellar Black Metal. I've always liked Luror (I knew them from a Burzum AND an Absurd tribute I have) but only recently discovered this LP and it's become one of my fave Black Metal LP's of the past year. Really fuckin good shit here!

METAL MONDAY (pt. 48)

Warlock 'Triumph And Agony'

Warlock's fourth studio LP from 1987. This is their most accessible LP up to that point as they were probably trying to cash in on the hair metal MTV craze of the mid to late eighties. BUT, but... it still has that Doro Pesch trademark voice fronting that trademark Warlock sound. All in all a great fuckin M-E-T-A-A-A-H-L album!!!

Left Field Sundays (pt 44)

Adam And The Ants 'Zerox' e.p.

Adam & The Ants second single from 1979. 2 songs. Both amazing. Though I think it's the B-Side song, Whip In My Valise, that I'm more fond of, about half way through the guitarist just throws down and shreds it up. Punk as fuck. The title song is also amazing that has that signature Adam Ant sound but throw in a bit of early B-52s and ya got the song Zerox.

Septic Death

Septic Death 'Need So Much Attention'

Now that I have your attention....Here's Pushead's Septic Death and their 1984 debut LP.

ZERO BOYS

Zero Boys 'History Of...Cassette'

(To repeat what I've already said about the Zero Boys) I discovered Punk when my family was living in Indianapolis from when I was 12-15, and Zero Boys are from Indy, so I have a serious soft spot for these guys! This came out in very limited cassette only copies in 84 and didn't see the light of day again until recently. Anyway, signature Zero Boys hardcore, not as classic or as amazing as the Vicious Circle LP, but fuckin amazing nonetheless!!!!

ORdER - 秩序

ORdER 'CD (Kanji Title)'

ORdER!! Love this band and they can do no wrong!!!! They have a new LP coming out and just put out a 7", besides those and the Donki e.p., i've all their stuff which i'll post sooner or later!!!

Oh yea, I believe this is with their original singer. I like the new singer much, much better, but this still is an amazing collection of songs!

METAL MONDAY (pt. 47)

Warlock 'Burning The Witches'

Germany's Warlock and their debut LP from 1984, Burning The Witches. Warlock was notable for their over the top female vocalist Doro Pesch, who went on to do an extensive solo career under Doro, after maybe (3?) Warlock LPs (that's supposed to be Doro on the cover there, tied up, looking all hot and innocent, about to be burned by that ugly trollish lil fucker there with the pointy beard! Don't Burn The Witch!). This one is the top of the crop though! Killer shit. The mighty Sacrilege were influenced by Warlock and ya can tell. There's even some of that crusty chugga-chugga-wail that I do back flips for.

Left Field Sundays (pt 43)

BURZUM 'Daudi Baldrs'

So, BURZUM, on Left Field Sunday. I feel that posting some of the bands that mean most to me (Amebix, Rudimentary Peni, Burzum) are lost in translation, they are bands that I think one should discover on their own, bands that are a bit to sacred to be put on my lame ol blog. I can't translate the meanings and/or sounds of bands of that caliber so I just won't post their LPs (though I did post Filosofem in the beginning of this blog, before I came to this realization). BUT, BUT, but....I think posting this LP on Left Field Sundays is OK, only that this LP is somewhat hated. It's a cast away in comparison with the rest of BURZUM's mighty catalog. BUT,BUT, but... I think this LP is fuckin amazing! It's haunting, mezmorizing, memorable, poignant and stirring. It's a concept LP of sorts, retracing the life of Odin's second son, Balder. AND, it was recorded from prison which makes it that much more haunting!!!! It's a shame that people disregard this powerful offering from such an elite one man act.

Anti Heroes

Anti Heroes 'It's Time To Change' e.p.

Man, I fuckin searched high and low for this single for twenty fuckin years! I finally found it a while ago on a blog that I've since lost track of (apologies).

Anyway, this is West Germany's Anti Heroes and, I believe, their only release, the It's Time To Change 7" from 1985. Not as hardcore as their West German contemporaries, they favored the Peace Punk vibe and sound of the early 80's out of the UK. The sound also has a bit of a brooding feeling, maybe a hint of goth or post-punk, cant quite finger it. Anyway, the first song was on one of my fave comps that really made an impact on me when I was a youngin. This is a great little e.p. from a forgotten West German mid 80's Peace Punk band!

Six Songs

Destroyer 666 'Six Songs With The Devil'

D666's demo. Their first recording. Australian and Anti-Christ!

Shattered Faith

Shattered Faith 'I Love America' 7"

LA's Shattered Faith. This is their first recording from 1981. The music is spot on for the time and place. I have a serious soft spot for the title song as it was on a comp a friend gave me that introduced me to punk back in, roughly, 1987...86. Makes me all tear up n shit...

A Tragic End

Persevere 'Tragic End' e.p.

Persevere's 2009 ep. One of my favorite Japanese bands out right now. I have all their stuff besides the new tape, so if ya like, i'll post more! Oh, and I posted the Instant Accident e.p. a while back, go find it!!

METAL MONDAY (pt. 46)

Iron Maiden 'Piece Of Mind'

I'm not exactly saying this is the best Iron Maiden LP and I'm not exactly saying this is my favorite Iron Maiden Lp, I just think it's a hell of an album for my first Maiden post. Btw- I didn't say Piece of Mind wasn't the best or wasn't my fave either.

necrosalvation

ASSUCK 'Necro Salvation' 7"

Brutal.
Unrelenting.
Savage.
Years n years of pent up frustration perfectly articulated within 6 minutes on 11 tracks by this late 80's/early 90's unit.
Beastly.
Feral.
Blood-thirsty.

This Is Pure Hell

PURE HELL 'Noise Addiction'

Don't know alot about these cats. I do know they were from Philadelphia. They recorded one 7" and one LP, this, in 1974. This LP didn't see the light of day until recently, 2005 to be exact. I also know they look exactly like you would think they'd sound like. Dead Boys meets The Kids who get beat up by The Damned who in turn fucked the mother of MC5. Got it? Good.

Condemned

CONDEMNED 'To All Human Error'

The mighty Condemned!! And unlike other Condemned posts on the blog-o-sphere, this one is cut down to four songs, opposed to all being lumped into one song like most blogs have done (the two blogs that actually have this ultra rare demo up!)!!
Anyway, Condemned, if ya don't know, have a cult status from the Japanese scene. They only released this one demo and were on a few comps. Not a 100% sure but I think Jacky CrustWar of GLOOM was in Condemned and possibly Makino from Framtid?
Condemned play brooding crust like it was meant to be played ala Hellbastard or early SDS. Killer shit here!!! Classic!

METAL MONDAY (pt. 45)

Sacrifice 'Total Steel'

Tokyo's metal maniacs Sacrifice and their second LP from 1990, Total Steel. Metal with serious punk influence, even a chugga-chugga wail here and there. Kinda reminds me of a bastard child of AGE, Motorhead, Destruction, English Dogs and mid-era Discharge with a dose of some good ol 1980's American Hair Metal!!! Sounds like a hell child, huh?

I posted their first LP here (a classic)!!

Left Field Sundays (pt 41)

Conan The Barbarian OST

Mongol General: "Hao! Dai Ye! We won again! This is good, but what is best in life?"

Mongol Warrior: "The open steppe, fleet horse, falcons at your wrist and the wind in your hair."

Mongol General: "Wrong! Conan! What is best in life?"

Conan: "To crush the enemies, see them driven before you and to hear the lamentation of their women!"

Mongol General: "That is good! That is good."

Law of The Rope II

Law Of The Rope 'Beasts Will Have You'

LA's all female 3 piece Law Of The Rope. Black Metal layered in city and couging up smog, drenched in hiss and noise, and strings accompany cloaked vocals that, all in all, make for a refreshing Black Metal release. I'm into it. Posted there other one here.

Crummy, Sucky Life Of Dreams

Crumbsuckers 'Life Of Dreams'

1986.
NYC, Long Island to be exact.
The sound of that time and region to a T!

Man, I just love this LP. Members were in M.O.D., Carnivoe and Pro-Pain (who I've never heard, they probably suck!)
Crossover NY style. More melodic and not as fast as DRI, but fuckin fantastic nonetheless.

Your Leaders are SH*T!!

Deathtribe 'Nothing Your Leader'

Japanese punkers Deathribe and their demo, 'Nothing Your Leader'. They recently did a split e.p. with Kriegshog that was murderous! On this 6 song demo, Deathtribe display their aptitude of playing killer hardcore with nods, musically, to both legends of Swedish Hardcore and Japanese Hardcore. I think this demo is more raging, kics more ass, takes more names that their side of the split with Kriegshog!

Ragnarok B

Borknagar 'S/T'

Borknagar, from Norway, and their first release from 1996. Borknagar started out as one of those Arcturus-like supergroups, and like Arcturus, Borknagar featured Garm of Ulver fame on vocals. I would even go so far as saying this LP might be a companion piece to Ulver's first three LPs. This album also featured Ivar Bjornson from Enslaved & Taake, Grim from Immortal & Gorgoroth, Infernus from Gorgoroth. Quite the Norwegian line up, eh? Borknagar was also the brainchild of founding member Oystein G Brun. They also have a revolving door for vocalists. The first 2 LPs had Garm, the next 2 had ICS Vortex of Dimmu Borgir & Arcturus, and the 5th, 6th, 7th, & 8th has had Vintersorg of Otyg & Vintersorg handling vocals.

Now, I like all Borknagar, even their newer stuff that gets a bit progressive and experimental, but I love this first LP! Like I said, it could be a companion piece to early Ulver records. Black Viking Metal that has both grim and clean vocals. Just an amazing record!!
